Weddings in Marrakech usually take place in a private villa, a riad taken over for the night, or a camp out in the Agafay, and guests arrive as families. With nothing arranged, children end up circling the tables, parents take turns watching them, and nobody enjoys the evening. How many sitters for how many children

The space matters as much as the staffing

Set aside a room or a quiet corner away from the speakers, with a rug, somewhere to sit and soft lighting. Many children fall asleep before the end, so there has to be somewhere to put them down. If the reception is outdoors, plan for the temperature drop after dark, including in summer in the Agafay.

What keeps a group busy for hours
